They are mainly found in Khasi jaintia hills in Meghalaya and in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, West Bengal, And Jammu and Kashmir. They form largest population in meghalaya. They speak khasi, Austro-Asiatic language. Rice is staple food. They also eat fish, meat and drink rice beer.
